About

Meg's Flowers

I'm the Meg in Meg's Flowers, and together with my team, we sling flowers for special events. We work with only locally grown flowers from NC and southern Virginia to create sustainable floral designs for our clients. We pride ourselves on working with local farms and seasonal flowers and foliage.

My team and I create gorgeous arrangements to make your event shine, including centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, floral crowns, large floral installations, and more.

Meg, Owner/Lead Floral Designer

Hi! I'm Meg, and I started arranging flowers in high school by putting together boutonnieres and corsages for my sisters and friends going to prom. In college, I designed the floral centerpieces for my sister's wedding. The summer I was married, I worked at a local farmer's market putting together hundreds of hand-held bouquets and began doing my first weddings. There, I began to establish my own style, which continues to evolve and expand today.

After that, my family moved to Duluth, Minnesota, where I started working for a family-owned flower and gift shop and breathed flowers day in and day out. There, I learned the real in's and out's of the floral design industry. And I loved it! When we moved our growing family to North Carolina, I continued slinging flowers. I've been running Meg's Flowers since 2006 and enjoying every minute of it.

Nina, Assistant Floral Designer

Nina and I found each other in 2018; our kids are in school together, and we share a mutual passion for supporting our teachers. She teaches preschoolers, loves to flirt with toddlers & grandparents, & writes and produces musical videos to promote righteous causes. She is jam-packed with energy, loves the hustle and bustle of set up and take down, and is a passionate creative problem solver.

She joined the team in the fall of 2022 as Assistant Floral Designer, doing a little bit of everything! She brings her love of all things vintage and beautifully magical moments in nature. Nina feels it's a gift to be a part of making your special event beautiful, and loves when we get to see clients light up at seeing their visions come to life!

Lesley, Communications Coordinator/Assistant Floral Designer

The first year Lesley moved back to NC from Boston (2018), she taught my oldest in her 4th grade class.  And it was love at first sight! We partnered together to start & lead the school's first garden club, and a couple years later, she also taught my second. To this day, she's still one of their favorite teachers; she is a marvel at bringing out more than they think they can do, and I find she inspires the same in me!

With the birth of her adorable twin boys, she made the tough decision to step out of full-time teaching, & we snapped her up!  She's expanded her scope with Meg's Flowers to include Communications Coordinator - she's using her gorgeous organizational skills to keep client communications smooth & timely.  Lesley loves doing installations, seeing all the bits and pieces, floral and greenery, come together into something our clients love!

Gabrielle, Special Projects Manager

I met Gabrielle back in 2018, and we've been scheming a sustainable business since pre-COVID. We laugh often, we learn so much from each other, and we love to work together bringing local flowers to all our events. As an artist, she has taught me the importance of imperfections & growth in the process, being fearless in trying new things, & starting fresh when needed.

In June 2022 she officially joined the payroll. She works magic behind the scenes ensuring we’re putting our very best foot forward in every detail, from lovingly formatted estimates to helping brainstorm new ways to use flowers and more.  She is also the woman behind the website curtain, weaving pictures, coding, and layouts into this virtual tapestry!
